Black copy of The Miracle Worker

Nothing succeeds in Bollywood as a tear jerker and nobody succeeds in creating a melodrama like Sanjay Leela Bhansali. So he looks up in the category finds this jem of a film which is considered one of the most moving cinemas in Hollywood called The Miracle Worker. The Miracle Worker is about a young girl, Helen, who is blind, deaf and mute since infancy and is in danger of being sent to an institution. Then comes the "Miracle Worker" in the form of Annie Sullivan who transforms the girl's life.

So, Sanjay Leela Bhansali hardly alters the plot except for adding a climax and developing the Miracle Worker's character. The story of the film itself is so powerful that it contributes much to the cinematic impact. His formula was good - take a deglamourous actress in Bollywood i.e Rani Mukherjee along with a popular actor to bring in the masses i.e Amitabh Bachchan.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the modern copycat in Bollywood who has improvised the art of copying films in the name of "remaking". Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam which is a massive hit in India is apparently a remake of "Sargam" a Pakistani film. Nevertheless check this track record, whenever he makes an original it badly flops.
